In Your light we will see the light
Permanent exposition of the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist (consecrated host) to the worship of the faithful. It usually lasts 40 hours to remind us of the period that the body of Jesus Christ spent in the tomb until the resurrection. This solemnity, which is claimed to have appeared in 1556, was introduced in Portugal by the monks of the Monastery of Santa Maria de Alcobaça. During the time of Lent, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed to the worship of the faithful in the church in days and hours to be combined.
